About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Job Summary:

Caterpillar in Seguin, Texas is seeking a motivated Production Technician to support our operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficient flow of materials that support the production of world-class diesel engines and power systems. You’ll work in a collaborative, team-driven setting where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are top priorities. This position offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience, develop valuable technical skills, and contribute directly to the success of our production operations while growing your career with a global industry leader.

What you will do:

  • Operate forklifts, tuggers, and other power equipment to move materials within the facility

  • Deliver, pick, move, and remove materials accurately and efficiently

  • Load and off-load materials on trailers

  • Ensure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defects

  • Follow standard operating procedures and area-specific work instructions

  • All other duties as assigned

What you will have:

  • Minimum of 2 months' experience in a machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment or industry certification

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English

  • General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint

  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures

What would make you a top candidate:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly operations, or warehouse experience

  • Previous experience reading complex electrical assembly instructions

  • Previous experience utilizing PLEX

  • Previous experience with similar electrical cabinet (repair or assembly)

  • Previous experience and/or certification in operating forklifts, tugger, and/or other power equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to perform repetitive operations

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

  • Schedule: Monday - Thursday,6:00am-4:30pm. Overtime as required.

Summary Pay Range:

$18.05 - $21.10
