An internship with the City of Seguin Parks and Recreation Department is an opportunity to grow professionally and personally. The intern will participate in administrative duties including customer service, marketing, special events, sports camps/leagues, and youth programs. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Assist with sports leagues, youth camp, aquatics, and administrative support; work with staff on reservations, events, and programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include assisting divisions, attending meetings, providing program support (e.g., Lifeguard, Cashier, Instructor or Camp Guide), assisting with seasonal hiring/scheduling/training, light cleaning/organizing, answering phones, planning events, research grant opportunities, and maintaining files. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Business English, office practices, computer skills, 50 wpm typing, ability to establish effective relationships. ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE: High school graduation or equivalent and one year of higher education vocational training/experience. CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Texas Class C Driver’s License; bilingual Spanish preferred; social media/website knowledge preferred; First Aid/CPR/AED within 60 days. UNPAID INTERNSHIP.
