PAY GROUP: 5. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Assists with maintenance of city public areas including parks, facilities, athletic complexes, event complex, fairgrounds, and right-of-ways. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Mow/weed eat/fertilize; pick up trash/debris; maintain athletic fields/volleyball courts; irrigation maintenance/repairs; plant/trim vegetation (chainsaw/light equipment use); vehicle/equipment inspections; transport materials; minor equipment repairs; clean right-of-ways; clean/maintain restrooms; install/repair fences; assist with concrete/form building; assist with event setup/breakdown; drive truck as needed; assist cemetery upkeep and city float maintenance; light carpentry/plumbing; observe safety. Other Duties: Regular weekends, nights, special events, and holidays. REQUIRED KSAs: Safe operation of equipment; physical ability to lift up to 85 lbs., climb ladders, repetitive bending/kneeling, outdoor work in adverse weather; ability to operate/learn equipment, follow instructions, work with co-workers; maintain Texas DL and good record. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: HS diploma or equivalent; equivalent combos acceptable. LICENSE: Texas Class C DL. Starting Salary: $17.85/hour. Position Will Remain Open Until Filled. AA/EOE.
