PAY GROUP: 5. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Assists with maintenance of city public areas, including streets, right-of-ways, parks, and facilities; prompt removal/disposal of light brush. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Mow/weed eat/pick up trash; use chainsaw/light equipment; collect brush and feed woodchipper; maintain/repair potholes, streets, ditches, trenches (plate tamper use); assist with sign replacement; rake asphalt; equipment inspections; transport materials; minor equipment repairs; clean right-of-ways; install/repair fences; assist with concrete/forms; place barricades during events/emergencies; observe safety. REQUIRED KSAs: Safe operation of equipment; physical ability to lift up to 85 lbs., climb ladders, ascend/descend 30" steps, repetitive bending/kneeling, outdoor work in adverse weather; ability to follow instructions and operate/learn equipment; maintain Texas DL and good record. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: High school graduation or equivalent; equivalent combinations accepted. LICENSE: Texas Class C DL. Starting Salary: $17.85/hour. Position Will Remain Open Until Filled. AA/EOE.
