Job Description: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST. PAY GROUP: 9/10. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Join a team dedicated to strengthening the local economy. Provides administrative, research, and program support to the City of Seguin Economic Development Department and the Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), assisting with day-to-day operations, departmental calendar management, invoicing and purchasing, business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts, economic research, grant administration, marketing initiatives, public board management, and coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders. Essential duties include implementing the City and SEDC CEDS, customer service to businesses and stakeholders, administrative and financial support (budget tracking, POs/invoices, basic reporting, grant administration), marketing support (events, tradeshows, social media, newsletters, website updates), project coordination, relationship building, and representing the City/SEDC at events (with periodic travel). REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Basic economic development principles; municipal administration; business/financial operations; customer service; analytical/problem-solving; organization; ability to manage multiple projects; Microsoft Office; clear communication; confidentiality. ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Associate's degree or equivalent coursework in a related field OR minimum 2 years full-time experience in business administration and/or direct customer service. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or experience in municipal government, economic development, or community development. CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: Appropriate Texas driver's license; completion of an IEDC accredited Basic Economic Development Course. Starting Salary: $27.11/hour. Position Open Until Filled. AA/EOE.
