Scope of Responsibility
The Surgical Assistant is also responsible for transporting patients to and from the Operating room, ordering and restocking supplies, performing environmental sanitation and performing other functions pertaining to nursing activities within the perioperative area.

- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Training and Experience- 1 year current hospital or nursing home Nurse Aide experience or completion of Nurse Aide Course preferred
- Current certification through the Texas Nurse Aide Registry
- 1 – 2 years previous Operating Room experience preferred
- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
