Scope of Responsibility
The Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician will perform and report results for routine and specialized clinical laboratory analyses, in accordance with established protocols on specimens of all types under the appropriate supervision.
Responsible to Director of Laboratory Services
- Education
- Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related field
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Technology and/or experience level for certification as required by Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI)
- MT certification by ASCP or equivalent certifying agency within 1 year of employment
- MLT certification by ASCP or equivalent certifying agency withing 1 year of employment
Training and Experience- Minimum 1 year experience in a Clinical Laboratory setting preferred
- Knowledgeable and able to perform in all areas of Clinical Laboratory
- Numerical, clerical and computer abilities required
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Critical thinking skills necessary
