Scope of Responsibility

The HIM Specialist will perform various duties which includes pulling records, attaching documents, and organizing charts.

Responsible to the Director of Health Information Management

    Education

    • High School diploma or equivalent


    Training and Experience

    • 1 year of Health Information experience preferred
    • Retrieves discharged medical records and reconciles 100% of discharged patient charts
    • Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
    • Knowledge with patient privacy regulations preferred
    • Knowledge with records management guidelines required
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignment required
    • Ability to effectively communicate required
    • Proficiency in keyboarding operations, Microsoft Office applications required
    • Ability to work independently required
    • Ability to effectively learn and apply that knowledge required
