Scope of Responsibility
Certified Nurse Aides provide patient care activities including: feeding, monitoring of vital signs, specimen collection and patient transportation. CNA's utilize and charge for equipment and supplies and acquire necessary equipment for procedures and explains procedure to patients and families. Other duties include cleaning equipment, meal trays and restoring rooms after patient discharge. Provides direct patient care to hospice patients in their home or facility including: bathing, dressing, changing linens. Reports any patient changes or needs to RN Case Manager.
Responsible to the Director of Hospice
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Training and Experience- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
- 1 year current hospital or nursing home Nurse Aide experience
- Current certification through the Texas Nurse Aide Registry
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current insurance coverage
