Scope of Responsibility
The Birthing Center RN will also routinely lead the team of care providers.
- Responsible to Birthing Center Supervisor
- Education
- Associates Degree Nurse or Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree
Training and Experience- Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
- Obtains and maintains ACLS within 6 months of employment
- EFM and STABLE certifications are required within 6 months of employment if there is prior labor experience
- EFM and STABLE certifications are required within 1 year of employment if there is no prior labor experience
- Obtains and maintains American Academy of Pediatrics NRP provider within 4 months of employment
- Previous experience in maternal/newborn care preferred
- OB triage duties may be assigned after the employee has completed the EMTALA Qualified Medical Personnel competency or with oversight by an RN who has completed the competency.
