Scope of Responsibility

Registered Nurses provide nursing care to patients placed in Hospice care.

Responsible to Director of Hospice

  • Education
    • Associates Degree Nurse or Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree

  • Training and Experience
    • Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
    • Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
    • Two years of Home Health, Hospice, ER, or ICU experience preferred
    • Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification preferred
    • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current insurance coverage

  • Rarely (Less than ½ hour per day

    Occasionally (½ to 2 ½ hour per day
