Scope of Responsibility

The technologist is also responsible for obtaining accurate diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and excellent customer service. This position works collaboratively with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and administrative personnel to provide efficient, patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Responsible to the Operations Director of GRMG

  • Education
    • High School Education or equivalent
    • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.

Training and Experience

    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI is required
    • Experience performing adult transthoracic echocardiograms is required
    • Must obtain and maintain BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 90 days
    • Proficient computer and EMR skills is preferred
    • Outpatient cardiology experience is preferred
    • Stress Echocardiography experience is preferred
    • Contrast Echo experience is preferred
    • Bubble Study experience is preferred
    • Familiarity with ultrasound systems is preferred
    • Experience PACS imaging systems is preferred
    • Knowledge of IAC accreditation standards is preferred
    • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current insurance coverage
