Scope of Responsibility

The Clinic Account Collection Specialist is responsible for the patient financial service functions including patient refunds, pre-payments, payroll deductions, and customer service calls. Other duties to include are payment posting functions, such as confirming deposits, researching un-postables, and balancing to the bank. The specialist will also follow-up on unpaid claim, research, and correct unpaid claims for resubmission, and will communicate with billing and coders with any trend on denials.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Training and Experience

• • 2-3 years previous medical billing/claims experience required
  • 2-3 years previous customer service skills required
  • Experience with insurance, and data entry required
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational skills
  • Computer skills, knowledge of Physician EMR systems preferred
