Job Position: Manufacturing Manager
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Determines staffing levels and manpower schedules based on workloads and knowledge of products and materials.
· Maintains the operating schedule relative to production demands and deadlines.
· Implement Lean techniques to assure the equipment / manpower needed to meet production schedule.
· Ensures products and parts are shipped according to agree upon dates, and is reported through appropriate channels.
- Coordinate activities of production to ensure the schedule is in line with productivity and efficiency goals.
- Initiates or recommends personnel actions; such as promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures and/or terminations by following proper procedures. Completes and administers performance evaluations for production supervision.
- Coordinates with the Master Scheduler, VP of Operations, and the COO in regarding schedules and/or problems.
- Uses Lean concepts to measure and improve production, equipment performance, and quality of product. Recommends changes in work areas and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
- Recognizes, analyzes and resolves work problems, and/or supports the production supervisory team in solving issues.
- Enforces and champions safety rules and regulations, leads safety meetings, and assures the safety and security of the facilities.
- Leads communication meetings to drive performance standards throughout manufacturing.
- Manages personnel by processing timesheets, logging attendance, scheduling manpower and scheduling vacation.
- Monitors productivity by obtaining hourly updates from production employees, walking the shop floor, attending operators’ meetings, reviewing operator’s summary reports.
- Provide and document operators training to successfully meet productivity goals.
- Responsible for communicating, managing and coaching direct reports to meet our company’s identified Key Production Indicators (KPI).
- Continue growth of operational discipline through Housekeeping, 5S efforts and infrastructure improvements.
- Support and help execute the operator capability improvement program. Ensure all operations personnel are advancing in their operational skills.
- Ensure proactive entry of repair request to support continued improvement of process reliability.
- Help drive efficient completion of daily scheduled maintenance work.
- Help drive continuous improvement.
- Manage operations cost to efficiently supply customers.
Operations Manager Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in operations, management, engineering or other related field (or equivalent experience)
· 5+ years of experience in production management
· Proven ability to lead & influence others
· Critical thinking, analytical & problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to effectively present information to all levels in the organization
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented nature and ability to drive and manage change
- Proficient with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, and other business systems
- Knowledge of project management principles & practices a plus
- Approaches each day with a sense of urgency and purpose
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Compliance with Confidentiality Agreement and Non-Compete Agreement
Experience:
· Manufacturing Management: 3 years (Required)
· Manufacturing: 5 years (Required)
Education:
· Bachelor's or equivalent experience (Required)
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the V.P. Of Operations. Works in conjunction with Sales, Procurement, Engineering, and Production departments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
