General Information:
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment and their respective process
Your Responsibilities:
Be responsible for manufacturing equipment and process:
- Monitor equipment performance.
- Respond to production equipment breakdowns, help diagnose faults, determine root causes and repair.
- Support day-to-day manufacturing process issues.
- Give direction to maintenance technicians on troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation: setup matrix / parameter cards / work instructions / process guides.
- Prepare and maintain equipment documentation: setup, schematics, operating guides, spare parts lists, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance procedures.
- Select components for industrial automation with the purpose of repairing, modifying, and improving equipment.
- Plan and conduct process characterizations.
- Implement corrective actions.
- Lead and drive activities and projects to improve OEE, MTBF, MTTR, scrap and FPY via problem-solving and process optimization.
- Advanced manufacturing line problem solving related to manufacturing process related defects.
- Planning and undertaking scheduled equipment maintenance.
- Perform equipment and process setup and validation.
- Design & implement equipment modifications (mechanical, electrical & software).
- Become a process expert, capable of making parameter changes and improvements.
- Become knowledgeable of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Learn to collect, record, process, analyze and transcribe data and show results in reports.
Support the introduction of new models and products into the assembly line:
- Develop and procure tooling.
- Equipment modifications and setup.
- Process setup and validation.
- Documentation update.
- Support TPM program by providing mentoring and training to peers, technicians, and operator personnel.
Your Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling (AutoCAD / Solidworks/ Inventor).
- Knowledge of programming languages (C++, visual basic, python, ladder logic).
- At leats 2 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Available and willing to assist and support after-hours equipment and process issues remotely or, if needed, in person.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship.
Preferred:
- PLC and HMI programming – Basic knowledge of Rockwell Studio 5000 and Factory Talk packages and Siemens TIA Portal.
- Experience with Industrial and collaborative Robots (Fanuc, Staubli, UR, TM).
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping)
- Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) tools.
- Data analytics: use of software packages (MS Excel / Power BI / Knime).
- Knowledge in interpretation of mechanical drawings and pneumatic and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge in the use of mechanical and electrical power tools and measurement devices.
